KEY DETAILS
- Phase I
- New construction of a six unit apartment building with two bedroom units
- 14 new and 3 remodeled townhome units, each with three bedrooms
- Two townhome units are fully accessible and one is designed for the hearing and visually impaired.
- Demolition of existing structures was included in the site preparation
- Phase II
- New construction of two three-story row homes reusing the existing stone façade
- New construction of two three-story duplexes, a seven unit building consisting of four two-story townhomes, three flats and a community room with a fenced in courtyard
- New construction of 10 units of flats with a second level walk-up unit
- Phase III
- A 1920’s addition to Miller School that housed the cafeteria, auditorium and gymnasium was converted into eight loft apartments
- As many of the original details, such as auditorium moldings and the gymnasium floor with striping, were preserved
- Lofts feature double height spaces, high ceilings, stainless steel appliances and Corian countertops
- 18 new townhome units along Heldman Street in the Hill District Neighborhood.
Special features:
- The Miller School Lofts portion of this project was featured by the Pittsburgh Historic & Landmarks Foundation in “Memories from Miller”
- Dinwiddie Street Housing units are built to meet Energy Star standards, incorporating high efficiency and alternative energy strategies
- Systems include independent heating pumps, solar panels and geothermal HVAC systems
